Portable Clinics Intact And Secured, Government Assures


The Portable Healthclinic (Phc) Worth 800 Million Shillings Remain Intact And Secured At A Government Yard In Mombasa. This Comes Few Days After Mps Claimed That Some Medical Equipment In The Mobile Clinics At The Nys Miritini Centre May Have Been Vandalized.

The Coast Regional Commissioner John Elungata Dismissed Allegations That The Clinics Has Been Vandalized Saying They Were Well Stored.

‘’The Containers In Question Are Well Stored And Secured At The National Youth Service (Nys) Camp At Miritini Area,’’ Said Elungata.

Senior Deputy Director Of Medical Services Dr Fridah Govedi Confirmed That The Clinics Were Intact And That Some Of The Equipment Was Put In Selected Containers To Protect Them From Damage.

“We Urge The Ministry Of Health To Release The Containers To Various Counties So That The Operation Can Start.’’On His Part Cs For Health Sicily Kariuki While Touring The Kenyatta University Referral Facility Yesterday In Kahawa West Commented On The Portable Clinics Saying Her Team Is Already Inspecting The Containers.

‘’ My Team Is Already In Mombasa Inspecting And Making Arrangments To Move The Containers In Places Where They Are Going To Be Of Service ,We Take This As A Useful Component In Primary Health Care  In Delivery Of Services.’’ 

Members Of The National Assembly Committee On Health Asked The Ethics And Anti-Corruption Commission To Release Findings Of The Investigation They Carried Out On The Containers, Imported From China.

The Portable Clinics Which Were Produced By The Ministry Of Health In 2015 To Help Increase Access To Health Services In Urban Counties Especially Slum Areas, Took Along Period Of Time To Deliver The Container Health Clinics To The Respective Counties.
